Space Coast Seafarer's Ministry
http//www.seafarersministry.org/
Brevard Baptist Association has a great ministry at the Port at Cape Canaveral known as the Space Coast Seafarers' Ministry. Port Canaveral is the second largest cruise ship port in the world. The Seafarers' Ministry provides outreach ministry to the crew members of many cruise and cargo ships from the Port. Each month, there are approximately 1,500 crew members that visit our port ministry . These people are from all over the world.
Mark Wodka is the Director and Chaplain of our Space Coast Seafarers' Ministry. He and his staff, along with a host of volunteers, provide a number of services to the crew members, including providing free meals, computer access so they can contact their loved ones at home, taking them shopping to various local stores, providing recreation at the center, and many other ways of ministering to their personal needs. The center also provides literature, "Jesus" videos, copies of the Bible (in 40 different languages), tracts and magazines for their enjoyment and use.
The Gospel is shared with crew members in chapel services and in one-on-one situations. As a result, there have been many who have received Christ as their personal Savior through the ministry of the Seafarers' Ministry.
Space Coast Seafarers' Ministry is supported by gifts from individuals, churches, and any interested groups. If you are interested in volunteering or making a donation to the Seafarers' Ministry, you may send it to the Brevard Baptist Association; 4235 South U.S. 1, Rockledge, Florida 32955.
